What Makes a Window Compatible

Instant Fit Shutters clip directly into the inner bead of a uPVC window or door frame. That inner bead — the small plastic strip that holds the glass in place — is the anchor point for the entire system. No drilling, no screwing, no adhesive. The shutter panel simply clicks into place.

For this to work, your window frame needs to have a standard uPVC bead profile. The overwhelming majority of uPVC windows installed in the UK do — which is why our no drill shutters work straight out of the box for so many homeowners without any preparation at all.

What to Check Before You Order

1. Are your frames uPVC?

Look at the window frame material. uPVC frames are typically white or a solid colour, smooth to the touch, and do not require painting. If your frames are timber, aluminium, or steel, our system is not compatible — Instant Fit Shutters are designed exclusively for uPVC profiles.

2. Is the inner bead intact?

Run your finger along the inside edge of the frame where the glass meets the uPVC. You should feel a small raised strip — this is the bead. As long as it is present and undamaged, the Instant Fit clip system will work.

3. What is the size of your window?

For casement windows that open inward, you will need to confirm the shutter panel does not obstruct the opening mechanism. Most inward-opening windows are compatible — it is simply worth checking during your measurement stage.
