Measuring Guide
What you need – tape measure, bank/credit card, pen and paper.
Take all measurements from inside your property, looking out of the window. Your uPVC window or door will need a 25mm clearance around the glass, for example window vents and handles. Exclude rubber beading or seals from any measurements.

Take all measurements from inside your property, looking out of the window. Your uPVC window or door will need a 25mm clearance around the glass, for example window vents and handles. Exclude rubber beading or seals from any measurements.
- STEP 1
Measure the width of each pane of glass in 3 places; across the top, across the middle and across the bottom. Note down the smallest measurement in mm.
- STEP 2
- STEP 3
Measure the bead depth. This is the distance between the pane of glass and the front of the window frame.
The easiest way to do this is to place a bank/credit card up against the window frame (preferably across a corner) and then measure the depth from the glass to the credit card.
This should be between 18-30mm, if in between sizes please round up. Note down this measurement.
- STEP 4
If there is a handle on any window we will need to know its pivot point position. The pivot point is when the handle is at 90 degrees as seen in the accompanying photo.
If the handle is along the left or right hand side of the frame, then measure from the bottom of the glass pane, to the handle’s pivot point. Note down this measurement.
